How to Make a Movie With a Basic Video Camera
- 1). Purchase a high-definition video camera if you do not already have one. Major manufacturers, including Sony, Panasonic and Samsung have models available at prices comparable to standard-definition cameras, as HD grows closer to becoming the standard for digital video. This will give your movie the most professional look, especially on larger screen sizes.
- 2). Purchase and install a video editing software program for your computer. A program like Windows Movie Maker will perform the basic tasks, but other programs like Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 and CyberLink PowerDirector allow for more advanced operations.
- 3). Write the screenplay for your movie or plan to shoot an existing script, provided you have the film rights to that script and compensate the writer with an agreed-upon amount.
