How to Care for Your Feet

25
Most of us take our feet for granted.
This is probably because they are often covered up by shoes, we don't see the damage that gets inflicted on them daily.
So we wake up one day and realize we have ugly feet.
They're dry and scaly and veiny.
Now they MUST be hidden! This whole scenario can be avoided, though.
All you have to do is start taking care of your feet right away! To do this, follow these four tips:
  1. Wear Comfortable Shoes
  2. Our shoes can often destroy our feet.
Constricting the feet, is bad for its blood flow, and it can cause the development of calluses.
Avoid this by wearing comfortable shoes all the time, preferably flats.
Heels tend to put pressure on the feet and strain the veins, causing them to pop out and make the feel look veiny.
  3. Keep Your Fee Up
  4. Whenever you can, keep your feet up by stretching your legs out and propping the feet on a foot stool or on another chair.
This will help ease the blood flow, making it easier on the veins.
Doing this will also help prevent the development of varicose veins and spider veins on the legs.
  5. Get a Foot Spa
  6. Once a month, pamper yourself to a foot spa.
If you can get it professionally done, great, but if you can't, you can do it yourself.
Start by soaking your feet in some warm water for a few minutes.
Then, begin scrubbing your feet with a foot scrub.
Rinse of the scrub and use a file to work on callused or hardened areas, removing dead skin all along the foot.
Rinse again and give yourself a pedicure or at least cut your nails.
Doing this once a month will help prevent the development of thick and hard calluses and help keep your feet soft and smooth.
  7. Moisturize at Night
  8. This is the most famous bit of advice when it comes to caring for the feet.
Before going to bed at night, use a special moisturizer for your feet, rubbing it on your feet evenly, making sure you apply moisturizer in between the toes.
After moisturizing, put on a pair of socks.
This will seal in the moisture and help keep the feet softer.
If you do this often, you are also likely to find that your calluses will be softer and easier to remove each month.
