Care of a Tarnished Silver Plate With Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1). Dissolve one teaspoon of salt in a cup of white or apple cider vinegar. Add approximately 1/4 cup of flour to the mixture to create a paste.
- 2). Use a soft cloth to apply the paste to the tarnished silver item. Allow the paste to sit for at least 15 minutes, then check that the tarnish is coming off. If not, wait another 15 minutes.
- 3). Wipe away the paste from the silver, using the cloth. Polish the item with another soft cloth. Rinse the paste away from the silver under warm running water, then polish with a soft, dry cloth.
