Antony Jacob, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Munich, came on board in April, 2009 with an experience of over 20 years. He started his career with ITC Ltd. at various finance position and worked for six years. Later, he joined Continental Grain India Pvt. Ltd. as Financial Controller. He also worked with the major Indian and multinational companies, which include RSA Group, Royal Sundaram Insurance Company, etc.

He also has an experience in establishing consumer facing business in India.  In one of his interview, he told that Apollo Munich is looking forward to offer health cover to more than 500 million Indian population over next 5 years. Mr. Antony Jacob believes that health insurance sector has the largest potential to grow.

He shared that only 15 % of Indian population is insured, as majority of people in India believe health insurance to be a complicated product. But the reality is not so. Health insurance is a treasure as it acts as a true partner in times of need. It offers financial coverage against medical contingencies.

There is no doubt that health insurance in India is an unprofitable sector due to lack of awareness among the masses. He added that it is a matter of serious concern and all the associated bodies, including health insurers, medical service providers, regulators and Government should come forth to educate people about the benefits of health insurance.

With the aim to work in this direction, Apollo Munich, under Mr. Antony Jacob's guidance has recently started the philosophy of "Let's Uncomplicate", in order to help people understand that health insurance is an uncomplicated product and can be used by the people in India to protect themselves against the spiraling medical cost.

Antony Jacob has an experience to work in challenging environment and hereby, suggests different ways to decrease the number of people paying out-of-pocket medical expenses.
