1964 Chevy Nova Specifications
- The 1964 Chevy Nova changed little from the previous model year. The biggest edition was the introduction of a new V8 engine. This vehicle was no longer offered as a convertible. It was now available as a two- and four-door sedan as well as a four-door station wagon.
- The Nova of 1964 offered a 283-cubic-inch 195-horsepower engine and a torque of 285 ft.-lb. There were other engine options for the Nova including a 153-cubic-inch four-cylinder. A 194-cubic-inch V6 was also available as well as the most powerful 327-cubic-inch 220-horsepower V8 with a torque of 295 ft.-lb. The low weight of the vehicle coupled with the higher horsepower made the Nova truly one of the first muscle cars. It came standard with a three- or four-speed manual transmission. An automatic option was available as well.
- There were three Nova models for 1964. The Nova two- and four-door sedans had a wheelbase of 100 inches. The overall length of both vehicles was 182.9 inches, with a width of 69.9 inches. Tire size for these models was 6.50 x 13 in. The four-door wagon was slightly larger coming in at 187.6 inches.
- There weren't a lot of items that came standard with the 1964 Chevy Nova. There were however lots of options available at an extra cost. These included air conditioning, tinted glass and a padded dash. Even power steering and brakes were an option at this time. You could also get an AM/FM push button radio with rear speaker and antenna at an extra cost. A rear armrest was even an option.
