Fun Ways to Personalize Your Wedding

13
Every couple sets out to plan a wedding that is unique and special.
A great way to have a wedding that is really "you" is to add special details which let your guests learn something about who you really are, and what makes you tick as a couple.
Try some of these fun ways to personalize your wedding to create a celebration which will be memorable and unique.
One of the best parts about your fiance is how well you know each other.
He knows that you make the best pumpkin pancakes and you know that he had a dog growing up named Rufus.
You know that he likes to sing opera songs in the shower and he knows that you have a photographic memory.
Why not clue your guests in to some of these fun facts that really make you each an individual? A great way to do it is by printing custom cocktail napkins with a pair of facts about the bride and groom on each one (do a bunch of different ones).
Not only will your guests enjoy reading them and getting to know all the funny little things about you, but the custom napkins will be a terrific icebreaker and conversation starter.
For many couples, their families are a very special part of their weddings.
A marvelous way to make your wedding venue feel more like home is to display family photos in the space.
There are many variations on this concept.
You could show wedding photos from the bride and groom's families, do a timeline of the bride and groom from infancy to engagement (definitely include those embarrassing middle school photos!), or have photos of all of the key family members on the reception tables, perhaps as alternatives to regular table numbers (as in, Mr.
and Mrs.
Smith are seated at the Aunt Joan table).
Displaying family photos will help to show where you came from, and will also show your special family members how much they mean to you.
Are you and your fiance animal lovers? Do you love to travel? Share your passions with your guests by including them in the details of your wedding.
A beloved dog could be the inspiration for the groom's cake.
Depending on your venue (and the temperament of the animal), your pooch might even be able to walk the bride down the aisle.
For the bride and groom who love to travel, sprinkle details relating to your favorite destinations into your wedding.
The bride can wear Swarovski crystal bracelets with charms from their trips (Swarovski crystal bracelets also make great bridesmaid gifts).
The groom can wear a tie picked up in Milan or a bespoke suit from London.
Vacation snapshots can be turned into postcards and hung around the bar.
There are countless fun ideas.
Food is a major part of any celebration, and lends plenty of opportunity for personalization.
Work with your caterer to design his and hers signature cocktails named after the bride and groom.
Or design a wedding buffet around favorite family recipes.
The name of the dish and the family member who is most famous for making it can be placed on folded tent cards in front of the serving dishes ("Nona's Swedish Meatballs").
You might even wish to print up the recipes for the best dishes and give them as the wedding favors.
They could be inexpensively bound into books, or print the recipes on index cards and file into decorative card boxes for each guest.
That would definitely make a memorable wedding favor.
When your wedding is personalized, it will be more unique and meaningful for everyone.
Even a few small details which really express something about the bride and groom will have a big impact.
Your wedding will feel warmer and more inviting, whether it is in your own backyard or in a large hotel or reception hall.
