Wells is the smallest city in England and is famously known for its cathedral, and even been given the name of the most poetic of all the English cathedrals.
Being first built in the year 750, It is ravaged with history and even has evidence of a roman mausoleum.
Wells, Somerset is also on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills which has wonderful and breathtaking views so much so that it has been awarded An Area of Natural Beauty (AONB) which is the same as you would expect for a national park.
There is so much to see and do if you stayed in Wells for historians and sightseeing but that isn't all that this quirky little town can offer you.
It is also a walkers and hill walkers paradise.
Wells, Somerset also boasts a wide range of outdoor facilities that take place in the Mendips in which it is nationally recognised as a national centre for not only caving but also cave diving! Somerset also has Clarks Village which is the designer outlet shopping complex; the village has over 90 shops and restaurants, mostly selling goods at a lower price.
Some of the shops include: Bench, Cadbury, Fat face, La Senza, Jeff banks plus many more.
It has something for everyone.
The surrounding area has many places to go for all weather conditions and interests such as Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and the historic town of Glastonbury.
Glastonbury is known for the magnificent ruins of its Abbey for its Tor and its association with King Arthur.
People also most famously know it for its festival.
If you have a car then there are many attractions and places to visit such as Weston Super Mare, Cheddar, Dunster, Taunton, Bristol, Brean Leisure Park, Cricket St.
Thomas Wildlife Park, Alstone Wildlife Park, Seaquarium and many museums the list is endless!!! Bed and Breakfast in Wells, Somerset are of the highest quality and also being in a historic town also has exceptional and historic buildings, The surrounding areas are quiet and peaceful with some places even having some spectacular views of the Mendip hills and footpaths that lead to beautiful woodland.
