Tarporley - Cheshire is a large village.
This town was mainly known for being an awful traffic spot though today it is very picturesque.
Originally the town was an urban area but as of 1936 it was part of a rural district.
The only way to reach the town is by car as the railway line is still in use but the town's station has been closed since 1966.
A nearby attraction to tarporley is the Blakemere craft centre which contains many workshops and craft shops.
These shops are located in Blakmere Hall's restored stable.
The centre also contains a falconry centre, restaurant, coffee shop and aquatic centre.
Beeston Castle is another great attraction.
This is an ancient castle and is a great stop.
There are some lovely views of Cheshire from its highest point.
The Ice Cream Farm in Tarporley is a lot of fun.
This "farm" supplies ice cream to many restaurants, retailers and hotels in the Cheshire area.
They have a tasting kitchen and you can purchase ice cream directly and enjoy it at home.
Right near the Ice Cream Farm is the Candle Factory, they provide handcrafted candles.
A beautiful historic house is Peckforton castle.
This house was built in 1850 by Lord Tollemache.
This is a true medieval castle that is still open to the public.
You can even hire it for events and functions and was used in one of the Robin Hood movies.
The restored corn mill, Bunbury Watermill, still grinds its own flour.
If you enjoy gardens then stop by the Cholmondeley Castle gardens.
There is a lake, plant shop and tea room surrounding this large sandstone castle.
For those that enjoy golf you can get in 18 holes at the Portal Premier Golf club.
This is just outside the village of Tarporley and is a Par 71 course.
There is also the Cotebrook Shire horse centre where you can see rare horse breeds as well as ride horses along many of the nature trails.
