Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends in the 100 Acres Woods are popular among young children. This could make the perfect theme for your child's party. While there are certainly plenty of products you can purchase that feature the classic Pooh images, you can also create your own, potentially saving money. - Many of the Winnie the Pooh stories take place outside, so if it's possible, try to hold your party in your backyard. You can also plan a party at the park or at the zoo, though you may have to bring along some of your own decorations. If your party is in the winter, you'll have to hold it indoors, but you can still decorate the home to look like the woods or like Pooh's home.
- Forgo streamers and balloons with Pooh's image to create a room that looks like the 100 Acres Woods. For example, you could place a cardboard tree at the entry of the party to make guests feel as though they are really entering Pooh's home. A checkered picnic basket--inside or outside--can add a special touch.
- Play games with a Pooh-related theme based on the age of the children attending your party. For example, you could do a Tigger race--where all the children must hop to the goal--or a Honey Pot Toss--where children toss bean bags into a honey pot--with just about any age. Older children may enjoy playing Pin the Tail on Eeyore.
- Send the guests home with Pooh favors. Since Pooh is such a popular character, there's no doubt that you can find bunches of Pooh party favors at your local discount store. However, if you want to do something a bit more personal, you could design a craft in which the children create the ears of their favorite Pooh character from construction paper and attach them to their heads with a paper headband. You could also give away small jars of honey, Pooh stickers or a Pooh book.
- Pooh loves honey, so you could give children a dish that includes honey--serve small bowls of yogurt with granola and allow children to put in their own honey to sweeten the yogurt. You could also serve peanut butter and honey sandwiches, cut into the shapes of the Pooh characters. If you want to serve healthy foods, cut up vegetables and offer them with a ranch dip, saying that the vegetables are from Rabbit's garden.
