Iran Nuclear Plant - Iran Missile Test

28
On Sunday, August 22, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled the newest development in his country's growing weapons arsenal.
Ahmadinejad paradoxically called the new 13-foot Karrar drone "an ambassador of death" with "a message of peace and friendship.
" It has the capability to carry two 250-pound bombs, one 450-pound laser-guided bomb, or four cruise missiles, and can travel at 560 miles per hour.
It has a range of 620 miles, though fortunately it falls about 500 miles short of Israel.
The country claims it is its first long-range drone.
During the unveiling, the Iranian president also committed his regime to the development of weapons "until the enemies of humanity lose hope of ever attacking the Iranian nation.
" Their development of light, unmanned machines isn't new: They've been doing it since the 1980s.
Furthermore, the Karrar construction isn't anything groundbreaking.
But its first public appearance was augmented by the announcement just a day before that the Iranians are currently engaged in fueling the Bushehr nuclear reactor, with a little help from the Russians.
And on Friday, August 20, the regime tested a new surface-to-surface missile, called the Qiam-1, with advanced guidance systems.
In recent weeks, they have also displayed mini submarines and announced plans to launch satellites between now and 2013.
While Westerners with common sense worry that Iran will soon go nuclear, Ahmadinejad continues to maintain that they only want to generate electricity.
Practically in the same breath, he threatens any aggressors rather apocalyptically: "The scope of Iran's reaction will include the entire earth," he stated last week.
"We also tell you-the West-that all options are on the table.
" In fact, he calls any attack on Iran "suicidal.
" Ahmadinejad is a modern Hitler with his blatant anti-Semitism and empty assurances of peace (strangely coupled with threats of calamity), though he boneheadedly denies the Holocaust, which the German tyrant surely would not do.
He has also made no secret of the fact that he would love to see Israel and the US removed from the face of the earth, just as Hitler attempted to exterminate the world's Jewish population.
Domestically, he's no better: His police force aired the regime's dirty laundry with the extreme violence brought against election protestors in the streets of Tehran last summer.
Of course, Obama refused to lend his support to those Iranians trying to voice their opinion while living under Ahmadinejad's tyrannical boot.
For too long now, the United States, under both Bush and Obama, has equivocated with regard to Iran, despite warnings from Middle East experts.
More recently, the administration has failed to support both Israel, as our strongest ally in the region, and oppressed Iranian citizens.
All of this has only been exacerbated by Obama's stated aims to reduce both nuclear proliferation and the instances in which the United States would turn to nuclear weapons as a defensive measure.
Granted, he did make exceptions for Iran and North Korea who have continued to proliferate their arsenals.
Whether any real action will be taken with regard to either of those regimes remains to be seen.
In fact, the situation has been worsened by the current administration's love affair with political correctness regarding Islam, manifested recently by Obama's stated support, to a group of Muslims on Ramadan, for the Ground Zero mosque.
He tried to backpedal on his comments the next day and failed miserably.
When considering the Iranian president's radical viewpoints, it's not realistic to believe that he only wants world peace and little extra electricity.
In reality, we are facing a nuclear Iran with an anti-Semitic, anti-Western despot at the "Launch" button who would love to see America and Israel vaporized.
When he finally does display his nukes, America should not let him forget that we have them too and will not hesitate to use them.
But something tells me that Obama may indeed flinch, which can only bode ill for the West and Israel.
