Single-Firing
Definition: Single-firing (noun) is a process in which a green pot is glazed without having been bisqued first, then fired slowly to clay and glaze maturation in one firing cycle. It does carry some risks, as glazing greenware can be problematic, and there is an increased change of glaze defects, especially in the low-fire range.
Alternate Spellings: single firing
Examples: When single-firing, the firing schedule and ramp will be most closely akin to a bisque firing.
