Internet Marketing Basics

23
Do you have a new website and you're waiting for people to flock to it? It used to be "build it and they will come".
Well, unfortunately, those days are over.
If you want to sell products or services on the internet and you have a new web site, you'll have to market it to searchers.
A search engine marketing company will recommend optimizing your site, but that takes time.
You will need to supplement your SEO with a straight forward pay-per-click program like Google Adwords.
The first thing to do is research which keywords are popular for your product.
A good keyword tool to use is called goodkeywords (just Google it) and it's free.
This tool will tell you how many searches in the last month by keyword.
Next you'll set your maximum pay-per-click for each keyword.
Using the default amount is good here, but you'll want to adjust specific keywords to make them more valuable for you.
Writing the ads is more difficult than you might imagine.
Pay-per-click ads are very short, with headlines only being 25 characters long and description lines 35 characters.
Be certain to use your keywords in your ad headline.
You should have at least 2 ads using different keywords to attract maximum results.
Pay-per-click advertising programs can easily be tweaked to fit all budget levels.
You should start out with an affordable ad budget and relatively low bid on your keywords to see how the market reacts.
You'll need to adjust your bids in order to move up to page one.
Once you write the ads, adjust the bids and set the budget, you're ready to go.
Remember, when you reach your daily budget your ads will stop appearing in searches.
