Fruit Fly Resistant Fruit Trees
Jaboticaba
- The Jaboticaba, also known as the Brazilian Grape Tree, has a natural resistance to fruit flies. The tree is small and bushy, growing up to 15 feet tall. As the name suggests, the fruits resemble grapes in shape and flavor, though they are significantly larger. This tree can only tolerate temperatures down to 27 degrees Fahrenheit. Unless grown in tightly controlled greenhouse conditions, the Jaboticaba will only grow in South Florida within the United States.
