How to Tie a Line to a Bream Pole
- 1). Lay a 10-foot cane pole or branch on a work surface; this pole is your rod. Choose a pole or branch that is tapered.
- 2). Cut a length of braided fishing line from a filler spool. Tie one end of the line to the rod with an arbor knot. Attach the line 3 inches from the handle end of the rod.
- 3). Pull the braided line tight along the length of the rod. Secure the line to the tip of the rod with electrical tape. Wrap the tape around the rod tip and line two times.
- 4). Wrap tape around the rod and line in two different locations along the rod's length. Space the wraps as evenly as possible to hold the line in place.
- 5). Cut a 2-foot length of 6-lb.-test monofilament fishing line from a filler spool; use this as a leader. Cut the line with scissors.
- 6). Connect the monofilament leader to the braided line with a uni knot. Moisten the knot with water or saliva before pulling it down tight.
