How to Make Whiskey Mash
- 1). Place your grains into the pestle and distribute them evenly across the crushing surface. Apply pressure to the grains with the blunt mortar head. Twist the mortar head as you crush the grains. Continue crushing until a fine sand-like consistency is achieved.
- 2). Dump the crushed grains into the mash mixer. Add 85 fl. oz. water for every pound of grains used. Stir the mixture thoroughly.
- 3). Power on the mash mixer and allow it to heat and stir the mash to produce a wort.
