How to Stop Ontario Telemarketers From Calling
- 1). Register with the National Do Not Call List (DNCL) by calling the 1-800 number or by visiting the DNCL website at lnnte-dncl.gc.ca. Be sure to register all phone numbers including land lines and cell phone numbers.
- 2). Contact companies that are exempt from the DNCL if you want to opt out, or wait until the next time they call and ask to be removed from their list.
- 3). Make a record of any telemarketing calls that still come in. Ask for and make a note of the operator's name, note the time of the call and the company they represent.
- 4). Register a complaint when an unlawful telemarketing call is received by calling DNCL's toll-free number or visiting lnnte-dncl.gc.ca.
