A government seized car auction will often offer you great bargains because of the fact that they would want to dispose of these repossessed cars as quickly as possible.
Repossessed can differ greatly in their condition so knowing what to inspect and how to inspect it will help you make the most out of experience in joining impound auto auctions.

1. Engine - Repo auto auctions often give you the chance to inspect the cars about to be auctioned.
   This is the first thing you'd have to do.
   Pop the trunk and check if the engine is clean or not.
   If it is not clean, then it can be a sign that that car is not that well-maintained.
   If it is clean, then it could mean that it was only cleaned to cover up for oil leaks and such.
   In any case, don't hesitate to ask about the history of the car to find out more.
   
2. Suspension - Though this might look weird, try to push down on the car at the corners and then let go.
   It should only rebound once past the level position, then it will go back.
   This will indicate the condition of the shock absorbers and the chassis.
   
3. Tires - Check the overall condition of all the tires by looking at the side walls.
   It should have that much tread and it should not be damaged.
   Check if the wear is evenly distributed as this could be a sign of other structural damages.
