How to Use Clove Oil in Respiratory Health
- 1). Diffuse clove oil in a diffuser, burner or vaporizer for up to 20 minutes at a time. The anti-inflammatory effect of the fumes from the clove oil will loosen respiratory passages, improving breathing and treating congestion and other respiratory problems.
- 2). Massage clove oil into the chest, sinuses or bridge of the nose to open breathing passages and aid respiratory health. If necessary, dilute slightly with water or carrier oil, such as almond oil, to reduce any burning.
- 3). Add 3 to 4 drops of clove oil to a glass of warm water. Drink like a tea once per day to aid with respiration and prevent illness or infection.
- 4). Mix 3 to 4 drops of clove oil with ginger juice and honey to soothe the pain of bronchitis and other harsh respiratory infections.
