4 Tips to Un-Leash the Hidden Power in Your Golf Swing for Tons of Fun on the Course

6
I've been playing Golf Recreational since 1990, My wife bought me a lesson package from one of the local Golf pros for my birthday one year, So I took a few lessons and worked on the fundamentals of the Golf swing on and off for many years trying to get more power and yardage from my game and shoot more consistent lower scores.
I enjoyed playing and saw some small improvements in my game and my scores.
Over the past 2-3 years I've made it my mission to help as many people as possible shoot better Golf scores and get more satisfaction and enjoyment from the game.
Then a chance meeting changed my Golf game forever...
.
A good friend of mine named Doc who is a Golf buff, historian and excellent player called me one afternoon and asked me to stop by his house.
You see Doc was retiring and moving to Arizona to live in a warm weather climate and play Golf all year around and he needed some help with his collection of clubs, books, manuals, and old photos.
Doc made, collected and rebuilt Golf clubs for fun and He had 5 or 6 barrels full of old golf clubs along with a couple of dusty old boxes full of old books and manuals.
If fact he gave me a persimmon 4 wood that he had just refurbished and to this day, 20+ years later it was beyond any doubt, one of the best fairway woods I've ever laid my hands on! Doc went through one of the dusty old boxes that sat on one of the shelves in his garage, it could have been there for decades.
It was torn, tattered, water stained and looked to be about 100 years old.
As Doc gave it to me, he told me the keys to playing the best golf of my life were inside that old manual.
Of course I thought to myself, How could a 100 year old torn and tattered Golf manual help me with my Golf game.
so of course I took it home and put it on a shelf in my garage to further collect dust for another few years! Doc moved away to Arizona and it was several years since I had seen him back in town, but one June afternoon as I was warming up by the first tee.
Here comes good old Doc getting ready to play a round back on his old home course.
Doc and I played 18 holes together, talked about the old days.
It was really great to see him and see how nice and tan he was and doing so well in his new life in Arizona.
That day Doc shot 74, he was 75 years old at that time, and I shot 98, not terrible but certainly not good either.
After the round Doc and I were visiting the 19th hole and of course, being the high score in the group, I had to buy the first round of drinks and food.
Then Doc leaned over and said " Looks like you didn't study that old Golf training manual I gave you a while back" I was shocked, how he could possible know that I didn't even crack it open! Doc went on to say that he noticed several small changes that needed to be made in my swing that would help me play better and get more enjoyment from the game and that I should get out that old manual and give it a try.
Then it happened...
I couldn't believe what I saw!
So that very day I went home, dusted off that old Golf manual and began to study, look at the photos and the swing exercises.
After playing Golf for years, I suddenly had my eyes opened to how to properly swing a Golf club, generate effortless power and hit the Golf ball at the target with "point your finger" type accuracy.
I hated to say it but Doc was right, I really didn't know how to use the Golf club correctly.
After reading that first 1/2 of the book I went right to the swing training section and picked out 3-4 tips to work on the next day to see how it would help me.
Next morning at the crack of dawn, I grabbed my clubs and shot out the door, my wife asked with a puzzled look on her face " Where are you going at this hour","to play golf" I said.
Her reply was " How can you play golf, it's still dark out"! I set up on the range and worked on these few swing tips from the book...
1.
Grip 2.
Take away/Shoulder turn 3.
Position at the top 4.
Wrist action It was the Wrist action that made all the difference, without the correct wrist action, my Golf swing didn't generate the power it had the potential for and I was miss hitting the ball too many times.
Using the proper wrist action I was able to generate many times more power, hit the ball crisply and with much better accuracy.
Could it really be this easy I thought? After hitting 2 buckets of balls I was amazed at the difference, I thought to myself "Why hadn't the Golf pro's I took lessons from taught me this years ago!" I met doc later that day and we again played 18 holes, Doc shot 75, I shot 81, a full 17 shots better than just a day before! The Timeless swing fundamentals that were in that old Golf manual written in 1905 made all the difference.
By using the proper wrist action I was able to hit the ball further, with better accuracy and made the game much more fun to play.
So there you have it, even if you've played Golf for years and years, you can learn to unleash the power in your Golf swing using sound swing fundamentals and the proper wrist action.
