Free & Easy Lion Paper Bible Crafts

12

    Bowls and Plates

    • Use paper bowls and plates to complete a lion for this activity. Find the paper bowls in the church pantry or ask the church kitchen coordinator for the materials. Draw an open lion mouth on the bottom of the bowl and cut it out, then add the mouth to a lion's face drawn on a paper plate. Cut another plate in half and draw feet, gluing the feet to the head. This craft may be a starting point for a mural portraying the Daniel and the lion Bible story.

    Hearts and Triangles

    • Cut shapes from construction paper for this activity. The heart will be right side up with a face drawn on the front, and the triangle will be attached to the back of the heart to represent a lion's body. The body will have feet drawn on the bottom to create a seated lion. These lions can be used as a class decoration or for a take-home activity accompanying a day lesson in the Daniel story.

    Paper Bags

    • Use paper bags to create lions. Do not open the bag. Draw a tongue underneath the flap toward the bottom of the bag where the bottom folds over the bag. Use a separate piece of paper to draw a lion face and mane, then attach the face to the bottom of the bag, where the bag would stand if it were opened. The children have a paper bag lion puppet. The puppet can be used in a recreation of the story of Daniel.

    Daniel's Lion

    • Use paper cups and plates to make a three-dimensional lion. Cut a hole in the center of a paper plate large enough to fit the cup. Draw a nose on the bottom of the cup, then draw a lion face and mane around the hole of the paper plate. Push the cup nose through the plate hole. The decoration can be used as a table centerpiece or as a take-home craft for Sunday school.
