How to File a Complaint With the Canadian Labour Board
- 1). Obtain the proper complaint forms online from the Canada Public Service Labour Relations Board (crtfp-pslrb.gc.ca) or the Canada Industrial Relations Board (cirb-ccri.gc.ca). Online forms are also available in the forms section of the Canadian government portal (canada.gc.ca). You may also be able to obtain the necessary forms in person at the office of your local Member of Parliament or from your union representative.
- 2). Fill out the proper form in full detail. Labour relations complaint forms require a clear description of the issue or incident that you are complaining about. Make sure to answer all questions clearly and in full detail.
- 3). Attach any supporting documents to the complaint form. If requested to list and describe the documents, make sure to do so in a clear and concise manner.
- 4). Sign and date the form. Mail it to the Executive Director of the pertinent board following the address format specified in the form's instructions. Once the letter is received and processed, the board will send you a letter acknowledging your complaint along with a letter notifying your employer that a complaint has been made.
