Thinking about camping in Incline Village or Lake Tahoe this summer? Here is a list of some of the best camping spots in the area.

Sugar Pine Point: This state park is located on the west shore of the lake, close to Meeks Bay.
It is surrounded with beautiful sugar pine trees (put your nose up to the bark and smell them! They smell like molasses.
) The best time of year for camping here is July through September, but if you go in early July you might have to fight off the mosquitoes.
Great nearby attractions in the area are Emerald Bay, the Rubicon Trail, Bliss State Park, Homewood, and Lake Tahoe, of course.

Bliss State Park: This spot is very close to sugar pine point but it is on the opposite side of the highway, right on the lake.
Bliss is well known for its beautiful rock formations jutting out into the water.
It is a lot of fun to jump off these rocks into the deep blue waters of Lake Tahoe.
Bliss is also a great spot for scuba diving.
There is an old shipwreck at the bottom of the lake, close to Bliss.

Blue Lakes, in Hope Valley: Hope Valley is best during the fall when the numerous Aspen trees are changing colors.
The Blue Lakes are a gem in hope valley.
They are surrounded by interesting geological spires and domes, and the entire area is impregnated with lakes.
If you drive beyond Blue Lakes you can find some more desolate camping spots and have the area entirely to yourself.
