Tina remembered her mother telling her from time to time that she would never trust those floating objects that would bring us places, never.
But she never believed her, being the adventurous gal that she is, she would go take the risk of riding a motored boat just so she could check the splendid beauty of the wonderful island that she saw in a friend's picture.
She braved all odds once when she rode an amateur made raft that brought her to the island where the kind of stone that she needs for her project was found in abundance.
Unlike her mother, Tina believed that she is a water baby.
She have this kind of connection with every body of water she marvels on and she is way too comfortable in their arms.
Not until one day, her lifelong dream of joining a Caribbean cruise is now a reality.
Despite her mother's strong objection, she is now aboard the ship and living the life that she has been dreaming of ever since she was three.
She felt like the queen of the seas and as the waves forcefully touch the base of her giant cruise ship, she felt that it was the waves of showing her respect.
She was in bliss for the next two days until she was forcefully awaken by a loud and disturbing siren and the captain shouting, "We're sinking, grab your life vests!" Since Tina is a water baby, she stands still and refuse to grab a life vest, she still believes that the sea would not eat her alive and that she would by any miracle be saved.
But there are no miracles; she died in the arms of her beloved water.
This story is not a fiction at all.
In almost all part of the world, boat accidents are happening.
In fact, Kansas already reported 24 total accidents in 2005 with four fatalities.
Recreational boating accidents in Kansas in 2005 totaled close to $74,000 worth of property damage; while Florida has a recorded boating accidents of 603 in 2005 where 78 people were fatally injured.
Florida incurred a total of over $5,000,000 property damage resulting from recreational boating accidents.
This is quite a number and goes to prove how boating accidents could be part of our everyday risk in life and it would definitely pay to know a word about boating insurance.
In some states like Washington and Seattle, they provide for the registration of boats every year in order to ensure that they are in a good running condition and would assure the passenger's safety and the water's as well.
They need to check some boat parts to make sure that it will not add to the pollution in the water.
Boating insurance is important as traveling by water takes even more risk that traveling in land or air.
Unlike car accidents, where you could easily request for assistance, boat never run to another boat just like that and ask for assistance.
Also, having boat insurance would also make your friends and family fall asleep as peacefully every night not having to worry for you.
They know that you are in good hands.
