    iPod Auxiliary Hook Up

    • 1). Purchase an iPod car auxiliary cable from an Apple store or electronics store. Auxiliary cables come in different lengths, with some offering attached control functions.

    • 2). Plug the auxiliary cord into your Volvo's auxiliary slot, which will be circular and labeled "AUX".

    • 3). Plug the other end of the cable into your iPod headphone jack.

    • 4). Switch your stereo input to auxiliary and choose your song and volume level. Make sure your car stereo volume level does not exceed your iPod's volume level.

    FM transmitter Hook-Up

    • 1). Buy an iPod FM transmitter car adapter from any electronics store.

    • 2). Plug the transmitter into your car's cigarette lighter/electrical jack. The power light on your transmitter will light up green when it is receiving power.

    • 3). Place your iPod in the transmitter's dock. Your iPod will connect to the dock by way of its USB cable slot.

    • 4). Change the station on your dock to read 88.7, or one of the recommended stations the product advises using.

    • 5). Change your Volvo FM stereo to match the station displayed on your FM transmitter. Play your iPod through your dock.
