The name of Márcia Pirmez's inviting B&B - "Márcia's Window" - tells the story of an art-inspired return to a beloved place. In 2008, while living in Texas, Márcia curated an exhibit by Brazilian painter Lula Marcondes at an art gallery in Austin. As a token of appreciation and friendship, the artist gave Márcia a painting depicting a window overlooking Florianópolis. That window inspired Márcia in her decision to move to the island and open her B&B in 2009.
Although A Janela de Márcia has the feel of a peaceful country or beach home, it is located just five minutes from Centrinho da Lagoa, the busy commercial area by Lagoa da Conceição.
Access by bus to other top attractions in Florianópolis is easy thanks to the B&B's closeness to TILAG, the lagoon's bus terminal, which is part of an integrated bus system.
