What Are the Features in Pocket God?
- The game Pocket God allows you to control and rule over an island. The islanders, called Pygmies, are subject to your powers and abilities. As an omnipotent being, you can choose to be benevolent with your Pygmies or, you can strike them with your destructive powers. You can simulate earthquakes, hurricanes, rainbows and sunshine. You can also control what your Pygmies do by giving them a fishing rod or a magnifying glass.
- Pocket God regularly releases new "episodes," which are updates that release new game content. These releases sometimes offer new mini-games, such as playing Pygmy bowling, or special holiday themes. Content that has been added in the past includes the ability to change between day and night, the ability to make Pygmies dance, the ability to name individual Pygmies and the ability to give the Pygmies wood to make fire with.
- There are several mini-games within the Pocket God application that typically involve how many consecutive times an action is performed on your Pygmies. For example, in the episode titled "Fun n' Games until a Pygmy gets hurt," mini-games for consecutive coconut bounces and consecutive shark snaps were added. Mini-games also include Pygmy bowling and hurricane zaps.
- Pocket God is linked with OpenFeint, a mobile social gaming network. OpenFeint allows "Buddy Challenges," mini-games in which you can challenge your friends. There is also a Leaderboard section, where you can look at the leading players of the game and see if you rank at the top.
