Car Bike Rack Instructions
- 1). Attach the hooks on the top straps of the bike rack to the top of the rear door or trunk, being careful not to attach these straps to any glass, as this can cause breakage over time. Leave these top straps loose and attach the bottom straps to the bottom of the rear door, the underside of the trunk, or any flat edge underneath the bumper that will support the pressure.
- 2). Tighten both sets of straps, starting with the top straps. Tighten the top straps until the rack is in a central, stable position on the vehicle, then tighten the bottom straps until the rack is firmly in place. Tie the ends of the straps together to prevent them from flapping around in the wind and becoming frayed.
- 3). Strap the bike to the rack using the included bike rack straps, making sure to tighten them as much as possible. Secure the wheels and handlebars to the rack and the vehicle using bungee cords to prevent them from slamming around.
- 4). Secure the bike and bike rack to the frame of the vehicle by running a cable lock through any available hole or section of the frame as well as the bike and bike rack. Then secure the bike and rack to the cable using the U-lock, basically trying to make the thought of stealing the bike rack more trouble than it is worth for potential thieves.
