How to Remove a Nissan Altima Radio
- 1). Locate the hood release under the dashboard on the driver's side of the Altima. Pull the lever and move to the front of the car. Lift the hood and loosen the bolt on the negative battery cable clamp with the wrench. Remove the cable from the battery and set it aside. Move back to the Nissan's interior.
- 2). Pry the vents above the stereo assembly from the dashboard by hand. Disconnect the wiring connected to the back of the hazard and defrost switches. Set the vents aside. Remove the dash panel below the climate controls from the dashboard by hand.
- 3). Remove the two screws under the climate controls with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the two screws above the stereo assembly with the screwdriver.
- 4). Pull the entire stereo assembly and climate control panel from the Altima's dashboard. Disconnect the stereo wiring and antenna cables from the back of the radio.
- 5). Remove the two screws on either side of the Nissan's stereo bracket with the screwdriver. Slide the radio from the bracket.
