Free Screen Recorder

• Download Free Screen Recorder and follow the instructions in the "Download" dialog. Click any of the "Options" buttons in the top toolbar to set your preferences. Press the red circle in the toolbar to begin recording the screen, and press the blue square to pause filming. Save the file when you finish.
  
  

Windows Movie Maker

• Windows Movie Maker is packaged with your computer. Open Movie Maker and click "Import Video" from under the "Capture Video" option. Click on your video file and click "Import." Drag and drop the clips into the storyboard at the bottom of the screen. Right-click on a clip and select "Delete" if you do not want it in the story.
  
  

Video Card Drivers

• Recording and editing video software can strain your computer's resources, and updating the drivers for your video card will ensure that the videos you create and watch will run without trouble.
  
  Right-click on the desktop and select "Properties" to view the "Properties" dialog. Beneath the "Display" line, you will see the name of your video card. Your video card will most likely be a NVIDIA, ATI, Intel, SiS, or Matrox video card. Visit your computer manufacturer's website and search for the name of your video card in quotations. The first result should be a page for your video card. Click on it. You will find links to "update drivers" or "update" the card. Click to open the "Download" dialog and follow the directions given.
