Jewelry Styles at the 2014 Oscars" Red Carpet - Covering Earrings, Necklaces, Bracelets and Rings

What jewelry were the stars wearing? I have to admit I was expecting lots of Art Deco style jewelry but that is not what they were wearing.
I took a survey of 30 of the most popular stars.
For me the overall winner, taking the dress and accessories into account was Sandra Bullock.
Some may think the dress was a little conservative but really it was pure elegance.
She had earrings with tiny leaves arranged in an upward sweep that accentuated the line of her face, a bracelet and no necklace.
In fact only 7 of the 30 stars were adorned by a necklace.
Just one of the necklaces were substantial, it was worn over a high-necked gown that looked more like a jeweled collar.
Jennifer Lawrence wore her necklace to the back in that it was high on her neck in the front and low at the rear.
18 of the 30 stars had bracelets, mostly they were small but there were a couple that made a bolder statement.
Most wore rings.
Now to my favorite jewelry accessory, earrings.
They all had earrings on.
5 wore earrings with an upward sweep, similar to the style Sandra Bullock was wearing.
One star wore an ear cuff and one had several piercings up the ear with simple hoops inserted.
Not the most elegant look for such a special evening.
9 had button or stud earrings.
The remainder of the stars wore earrings with a stud covering the piercing with various shaped drops.
Most were no longer than 1 to 1 and a half inches.
Australia's Cate Blanchett won best actress for her role in Blue Jasmine.
She looked very soft and lovely in her 'nude look' dress.
Her jewelry consisted of a bracelet and rings.
The long length drop earrings finished with a rather large flower that seemed a little bottom heavy.
Not to take away from her overall look of gorgeous.
That is what jewelry is meant to do.
Add to the overall 'wonderful you' look.
You don't want to meet someone and have them say what beautiful earrings you are wearing.
You want the earrings to compliment you, make them work for you.
So when you meet that special person they say how stunning you look and those earrings just add to your beauty.
The Oscars and all red carpets are the place to practice your talent of knowing what looks good and what works together to give that special look.
