The Art of Vacation Packing

33
Not so much an art more a science, packing your suitcase for your vacations can be the most stressful thing on the whole trip.
If you find yourself with lots of clothes all over the bedroom and have to sit on top of the bag and wait for the zip not to break then these tips are sure to help.
Even before opening the closet door, make a list of all the essentials you need.
These should include: Sunscreen, sunglasses, travel documents, cash, travellers checks, credit cards and any medications you may have.
Then plan through what you do on your vacation time and the type of clothing you will need.
Think carefully and do not forget your underwear and toiletries! Most people, especially women find that we have taken far too much and come back with items that are not even pulled out of the bag.
As a rule, have all the items you want to laid out, half this and then half it again.
This is the exact amount of clothing that you will actually use while away.
Always make sure to take at least a sweater or light jacket and a pair of pants.
Although the climate in the country you are visiting could be extremely hot that you can still get cooler at night.
Try to coordinate what they have with at least another two things you pack, so you can recycle them by wearing the item more than once.
2-3 bathing suits or bikinis are more than enough for a 7 night.
Check if where you are staying has beach towels, this could allow you to leave yours at home, giving you more valuable space.
Footwear should include: 1 pair of shoes (sandals or flip flops), 1 pair of high heels at night and a pair of comfortable shoes for walking.
A large bag for the day and the beach is always useful and is good to use as hand luggage, giving you extra room.
A smaller bag can be easily hidden in a corner of the case for the evenings.
If in doubt on any, leave it out! Be realistic, rather than squeeze in unnecessary items.
The more you pack the your clothes will get wrinkled, and ironing is not something you want to do whilst on vacation!
