Tambisaan Beach On Boracay Island - A Review
There is an ongoing legend about the Tambisaan beach that it is mostly visited by those who mistakenly stray from the famous White beach.
I don't know how far that is true, but I dropped by there as part of an island hopping package tour.
I must tell you that the cost of the package tour was not cheap: it cost me eight hundred pesos, but when I was done enjoying the beach and everything it has to offer, I could happily conclude that the investment was worth it.
In this article I will tell you what I liked about the Tambisaan beach and why you should visit it.
Lunch and music: We went there by a banka boat but if you don't like boats then you can drop here by a tricycle ride as well.
As part of the package, I was treated to a really sumptuous lunch (it is a buffet, by the way) as well as enjoyable live music played by highly skilled entertainers.
That alone must be worth half the cost of the tour package! Excellent beach if you want to go snorkeling: This is a nice and peaceful area if you want some calm and noise-free zone.
Another plus point are the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets you can view from here.
But the biggest of all the advantages you get from the Tambisaan beach is snorkeling.
If you are a snorkeling fanatic then this beach is a great place for you.
Indeed the sunshine makes the place an even better place for snorkeling! There are locals from whom you can rent snorkeling gears at affordable prices although the quality and sizes of the gears are not always up to the par; it is really a gamble when you are renting gears here: unless your know what you are doing, you might feel cheated.
The bad: There are however, certain things you need to keep in mind while snorkeling here.
Plenty of tourists drop their water bottles in the ocean, so be careful of them as you might get hurt.
Another thing to note is that you must not go snorkeling during bad weather conditions; especially during rainy season, the Caticlan boats would skip the Cagban beach and drop their passengers on the Tambisaan beach; as such, it is not advisable to snorkel during these types of weather.
There are plenty of rocks here which on one hand, enhance the pleasure of snorkeling even further as you can snorkel around them, but on the other, if you are not careful, the same rocks may hurt you.
There are also plenty of water creatures who may hurt you unintentionally if you mistakenly step on them.
One such creature is the stonefish.
If you want to visit this island with the sole purpose of snorkeling you would want to go there when the wind is at a low point.
Overall, if you want to get a complete view of Boracay, your tour won't be complete if you don't drop by the Tambisaan beach.
Sure, it is not as well known as the other, more famous beaches of Boracay but that is exactly why you would end up liking it more.
Be it snorkeling or enjoying the scenic beauty of nature, you can't enjoy either fully if you always have a crowd of tourists on the beach fighting to enjoy those same pleasures, can you?
