The Best Ways to Take Nettle
- Take 300 mg of freeze-dried nettle twice a day in capsule form. According to the Langone Medical Center, this amount has been studied and proven to be effective at treating seasonal allergies like hay fever.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is treated with nettle in European countries and is particularly effective when taken with saw palmetto. Take 3 to 4 grams of dried leaves in capsule form, three times a day.
- Mix equal parts of nettle, thyme, grapevine and galangal and apply it topically to wounds to stop bleeding. These herbs work together as an effective blood stopper.
- Pour 3/4 cup of boiling water over 4 tsp. of dried leaves and steep for 4 minutes to make a tea. Drink 4 cups a day to help improve urinary tract infection symptoms. This works even better when combined with vitamin C and cranberry juice.
