How to Get More Stars on "Howrse"

39

    Foal Games

    • 1). Play foal games once a foal reaches 8 months of age. Make sure your foal's energy level is above 90 pecent and select the "Foal Games" icon. Choose the amount of play time, which needs to be three to four hours.

    • 2). Feed your foal a turnip and an apple. Feed your foal oats to help it regain energy as the foal games lower energy levels. Make sure to put the foal to bed by 10 p.m. so it wakes up with enough energy for foal games.

    • 3). Repeat Steps 1 and 2 every day that you log on to "Howrse" until the animal turns one and a half years of age. Select the "Play with Companions" icon on the left side of the screen. If you don't have a companion animal, buy one at the shop. Companion animals include monkeys, rabbits, cats, goats, swallows and griffins. Play with the companion for three or four hours every day until the foal reaches 2 years of age. At this time, players start training and need to play with companions less to save energy for training. Play with a foal for one hour a day when training starts.

    Howrse Rides

    • 1). Once a foal reaches one year and eight months old, it goes on rides to gain skill points. Select the icon of one of the rides: trot, gallop, steep slope and beach. Select the duration of the ride and make sure the animal's energy is above 85 percent. Feed the foal a turnip and oats after each ride to recover energy.

    • 2). Select different types of rides every ride because each develops different skill points. Select longer durations for trot and beach rides and short durations for steep slope and gallop rides.

    • 3). Allow the foal to recover in the meadow or stall box between rides, and select rides only twice per game day. Reduce riding duration once the foal reaches 2 years because energy needs to be reserved for training. Continue short rides to gain skill points along with training.

    Training

    • 1). Train the horse in categories in which the breed excels first. If you are unsure, click on each training category on the right; an exclamation point appears on the weakest training areas. Select the "+" icon on the skill category in which you want to train. Select a duration of no more than three hours, as training significantly reduces horse energy. Remember a horse dies if its energy level drops to zero.

    • 2). Train every day you log into "Howrse" because training takes a long time to complete. Make sure to feed turnips, carrots, apples and oats to a horse after training to recover energy. Allow several hours in the meadow after training, so the horse grazes and gains health and energy.

    • 3). Train in the weaker skills after stronger skills are complete. Train in the weaker skills for three to four hours each game day. Continue short horse rides to help skill points rise because weaker skill categories take a very long time to complete.

    Competitions

    • 1). Register your horse in competitions when it turns 3 years old. Keep the number of competitions per game day low until training is complete because competitions use a lot of energy. Register a horse in a competition with 55 percent difficulty to gain skill points faster.

    • 2). Register a horse in "Race" competitions to achieve trotting, galloping, speed and stamina skill points. Register a horse in "Show Jumping" to achieve dressage and jumping skill points. Register a horse in "Dressage" to achieve dressage skill points and register a horse in "Barrel Racing" to achieve in stamina and jumping skill points.

    • 3). Win competitions to achieve more skill points in the selected categories. Players usually win one in five competitions -- which improve as the skill points rise -- so it is necessary to enter horses in competitions every game day. Once training is complete, register horses in several competitions a day to continue gaining skill points.
