How to Increase Natural Histamines
- 1). Consume food that contains high levels of histamine. Peanuts, fish, mustard, bread, chocolate, sunflower seeds, ketchup, cheese, soy sauce, sauerkraut, smoked foods (such as smoked sausage or ham) and pizza can increase the body's histamine levels.
- 2). Drink beverages that increase the body's natural histamines. Alcohol, specifically red wine and champagne, increase the body's natural histamines, although white wine and beer may also increase histamines as well. Coffee and black tea can also increase the body's histamines.
- 3). Exercise regularly. A study at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center reveals that regular exercise causes the body to release histamines at a higher rate. Establishing a regular exercise routine can help you increase your body's histamine production.
- 4). Avoid foods that may block histamines, thereby lowering your body's natural histamine production. Carrots, spinach, mangoes, tomatoes, salmon, walnuts, broccoli, citrus fruits, berries, onions, garlic, apples and other foods that have a lot of vitamin A may block histamines in the body or prevent your body from producing them.
