How to Replace Lenovo T61 Memory
- 1). Power down your T61, and then remove the power cord and the battery.
- 2). Turn the computer over and, using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws that are labeled with a small keyboard symbol. Turn the computer back over and open the computer.
- 3). Pull the palm rest toward you and off of the computer. Disconnect the cable that holds it to the computer and set the palm rest to the side.
- 4). Remove the memory module in the computer by spreading the snaps that hold it in place, and then pulling the module out of the computer.
- 5). Insert your new memory module into the memory slot, press down until the snaps click into place, and then plug the palm rest back into the computer.
- 6). Snap the palm rest back into place, turn the computer over, replace the four screws that you removed earlier, and then replace the battery and power cord.
