How to Convert From Nanoseconds to Milliseconds
- 1). Divide the number of nanoseconds by 1 million to convert to microseconds. For an example, 20 million ns divided by 1 million converts to 20 ms.
- 2). Shift the nanosecond's decimal six places to the left to convert to milliseconds. If the number has no decimal point, add it to the right end of the number, then shift. For example, 2500000.25 ns becomes 2.50000025 ms; 2500 ns becomes 2500000.0, then 2.5 ms.
- 3). Convert nanoseconds to milliseconds with an online converter like the one at UnitConversion.org. Type the number of nanoseconds into the space next to the appropriate prompt. The converted milliseconds will appear automatically below the original measurement.
