How to Cut Up a Potato for Seed
- 1). Cut the seed potatoes into 1 1/2- to 2-ounce pieces. Make sure each piece has 1 to 3 eyes.
- 2). Spread the pieces in a single layer and allow them to heal for 2 days before planting.
- 3). Place the cut potatoes in a paper bag with 1 to 2 tbsp. sulfur powder, if desired. Sulfur powder may add additional protection against fungal diseases. Shake gently.
