23

    Power Problems

    • 1). Check that the power cord is securely plugged into an electrical outlet.

    • 2). Press the "Power" button on the television or the remote control.

    • 3). Ensure that a fuse hasn't blown or a circuit breaker hasn't tripped in your fuse box. Replace the fuse or reset the breaker as needed.

    Picture Problems

    • 1). Press the "Input Select" button on your remote control to change the video input to the correct setting.

    • 2). Check the cable connections on the back of the television if the program you are watching is from a component device. For example, if you are watching a DVD, make sure the cables are properly plugged into the "Component" or "Video" input jacks on your television and that the opposite ends are connected to the "Video" output jacks on your DVD player. The cables and jacks are color coded; each colored cable is connected to the same colored jack.

    • 3). Adjust the picture settings on the television. Press the "Menu" button and select the "Screen" list of options. Use the right arrow button to access the menu of picture settings, and press the up or down arrow button to highlight the picture setting you want to adjust. Press the right arrow button a second time to select the setting and use the arrow buttons to change the picture setting.

    Sound Problems

    • 1). Press the "Volume >" button to raise the volume if it was lowered.

    • 2). Turn off the television's mute function, if it was enabled, by pressing the "Mute" button on the remote control.

    • 3). Check the audio cable connections on the back of your television if you are using a component device. The color coded cables should be plugged into the corresponding color coded "Audio" input jacks on the back of the television. The opposite ends of the cables are plugged into the "Audio" output jacks on the component device.

    • 4). Adjust the audio settings on your television by pressing the "Menu" button and selecting "Audio." Press the right arrow button to access the audio settings options. Use the up or down arrow buttons to highlight a setting, press the right arrow button to select the setting and make adjustments with the arrow buttons. Any of the settings that are turned all of the way up or down may indicate the problem with your television's sound and should be adjusted.
