Assemble Estate Information

• The executor will have to assemble all information regarding the estate property, such as bills, bank statements and receipts, regarding the handling of the estate property since the time of the last accounting.
  
  

Prepare Report

• A written report will be prepared by the executor that describes how the estate property was managed during the probate proceedings, which will include an accounting and relevant financial information.
  
  

File and Serve

• The report will be prepared in the form of a petition and filed with the probate court with copies served on all beneficiaries. The petition will also include a proposed distribution of estate property.
  
  

Attend Hearing

• The executor and estate attorney will attend a court hearing on the petition, at which time the court will deal with any objections to the petition, if any, and make a final ruling on the petition.
  
  

Distribute Estate Property

• After the court hearing, the executor will distribute the estate property as ordered by the court.
