Once a bill has passed through both houses of the legislature, it is sent onto the governor to be enacted as a law. The governor then has the responsibility to consider the bill. He can choose not to sign the bill, in which case the bill will go on to become law without his signature. He can sign the bill, immediately putting the law into action, or he can veto the bill. It must then be revised and passed through the house again before it can be considered by the governor for passage into law.
