How to Install a Bathtub Spigot
- 1). Look at the pipe protruding from the wall above the bathtub. You need to know if it is threaded or unthreaded and also the length of the pipe from the wall to the tip. Purchase a spigot that fits the type and length of the pipe.
- 2). Slide the new spigot onto the unthreaded protruding pipe. Use a hex wrench to tighten the set screw on the side or the bottom of the spigot where it meets the wall.
- 3). Wrap thread seal tape around the threads on the protruding pipe. Twist the new bathtub spigot onto the pipe using your hand. Place a soft cloth around the spigot and finish tightening using tongue and groove pliers.
