How to Hook Up Rods on the Bowflex
- 1). Attach the rod box to the rod box frame. The rod box holds the base of the rods. Secure with three Phillips-head screws. Add a washer to each screw before securing in place.
- 2). Attach the rod box to the lat tower by aligning the bolt holes on the rod box with the bolt holes on the lat tower. The bolt holes on the tower are above the chest bar. Secure the pieces together with the included button-head screws and nylock nuts. Place a washer on each of the two screws before inserting into the bolt holes, then put a second washer on before securing with the nut.
- 3). Place the main faceplate over the rod box to lat tower assembly. You will need to line up the plastic stems on the faceplate to slide into the corresponding holes in the the lat tower assembly. Secure in place with two included Phillips-head screws.
- 4). Slide the faceplate left and right panels onto each side of the faceplate. The two side panels should slide over the screw heads holding on the main faceplate in place and meet in the center. Secure in place with two included Phillips-head screws.
- 5). Sort out the cables running from both chest bar pulleys. Pull one end of one cable upwards and attach it to a rod cap by hooking the rod hook on the end of the cable through the hole in the rod cap. On the other end of the cable, attach a hand grip to the snap hook. Repeat the steps for the second cable. Attach the second cable to the rod cap directly opposite of where you hooked the first cable. For example, if you hooked the cable to the first rod cap on the left, you will hook the other cable to the first rod cap on the right. Which rod you attach the cable to determines the amount of resistance you will experience as you work out.
- 6). Find the lat cables. Pull one end of one cable down from the lat cross bar. Connect the lat cable to the chest cable snap hook with the snap hook at the end of the lat cable. Repeat on the other side with the second lat cable.
- 7). Identify the leg cables attached to the rear leg pulley. Pull one end of the Y-cable away from the rear leg pull. Fasten the cable with the snap hook to the rod cable. Repeat on the other side.
- 8). Pull one end of the base leg pulley cable up from the base leg pulley and attach to the snap hook on the chest bar. Fasten the snap hook on the squat cable to the corresponding D-ring on each side of the squat bar. Repeat on the other side.
