Hairbow Directions

    • 1). Unroll 3-inches of ribbon from the spool and make a loop.

    • 2). Pull another 3-inches of ribbon and make another loop. The loop will be next to the first loop, at a 90 degree angle. Continue to pinch the center of the bow to hold the loops in place.

    • 3). Make another 3-inch loop directly across from the first loop. Pinch the ribbon to hold the loop then make a fourth 3-inch loop to fill the gap between the first and third loop.

    • 4). Pinch the center of the hair bow and wrap it with craft wire, separating two loops on either side of the wire wrap. The wire will hold the loops in place so you can release your pinch. Trim the craft wire with the needle nose pliers.

    • 5). Cut the end of the ribbon at an angle and tuck it behind the bow. At this point, you can add ribbon to the back of the bow if you want loose strands of ribbon cascading down from the bow. Simply cut strands of ribbon and secure the ends to the back of the bow with hot glue.

    • 6). Place a dab of hot glue on the back of the ribbon and press the bow onto the barrette clip. Hold until the glue has cooled.

    • 7). Cut a 5-inch piece of ribbon and wrap it around the center of the bow to cover the wire and further secure the bow to the barrette. The ribbon should fit through the area just over the barrette's tension prong. Do not wrap ribbon over the clip that opens and closes.

    • 8). Tie the ribbon in a secure knot and move the knot to the back of the bow so the front center is smooth. Trim any excess ribbon and place a small dab of glue in the knot to secure the center ribbon.
