Nothing Beats Raw Talent in the Music Industry

9
Rarely do we see a performer that has raw talent because this type of talent is so powerful that its magnetism draws you in to an unforgettable experience.
Your emotional feelings are extremely heightened by what you are witnessing of the artist's performance.
And to prove this point the following story says it all.
In 2009 a singer appeared on the British talent show, Britain's Got Talent.
Her name is Susan Boyle.
The song she sang was "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables.
Before Susan sang, one of the judges, Simon Cowell asked her a few background questions.
He asked her what was her dream and she said that she wanted to be a professional singer.
He then asked her who she would like to be as successful as and Susan said Elaine Page.
Elaine is a popular and very talented singer.
Unfortunately when seeing some of the judges' and audience members' facial expressions, it was apparent they had formed an opinion that she would certainly fail her audition.
This was based on the fact that she was a middle-aged woman (47 years old), her appearance, and how she answered Simon's questions.
When Susan started to sing the first verse of the song, the electricity in the audience said it all.
The audience began cheering wildly and the expressions on the judges' faces were in awe.
Jaws dropped and people realized how wrong they were to have formed an opinion that she would fail.
I've seen a lot of performers over the years and I've seen singers get standing ovations at the end of their performance.
Rarely though have I seen what took place during Susan's endearing rendition.
Several times the audience rose to their feet during the performance and they were cheering and applauding with such joy and veneration.
The reaction to a singer like Susan was overwhelming.
Picture this folks.
There it was - raw talent pulling in the audience with its immense power and musical singing ability.
This is what it's all about.
This is beyond good or excellent.
This is pure, crystal clear singing.
After her audition the judges had this to say.
Piers Morgan said when you stated that you wanted to be like Elaine Page there were people laughing at you.
Well no one is laughing at you now.
Your performance was stunning.
He recalled that he had never seen anything like it in the three years that he had been judging.
Amanda Holden said she was so thrilled with Susan's performance because she knew that there was a lot of negativity before she performed.
I think we were all being very cynical and that's the biggest wake up call ever.
I just want to say it was a complete privilege listening to that.
The three judges all voted yes.
Piers Morgan said it all when he stated I'm giving the biggest yes I have ever given to anybody.
In this day and age when far too often more emphasis is put on looks, pizzazz and glitter, it's important to remember that the true core here is musical talent.
As the expression goes, never judge a book by its cover but always by its content.
What made this beyond good or excellent was this artist's awe-inspiring singing.
Students of music should look at the seven minute, You Tube video of Susan's first appearance on Britain's Got Talent as part of their curriculum.
They will see something that most will probably only see once in their lifetime.
If they study the film carefully and when it's done ponder all the lessons to be learned here about raw talent, they will have enhanced their musical education experience immensely.
