Viles Arboretum

• Viles Arboretum (vilesarboretum.org) is a recreation area in southern Augusta, approximately 10 minutes north of Gardiner. The Arboretum facilitates wedding events in three spaces: Elsie Viles Conference Room, Cliff West Conference Room and Johnson Pavilion. The Viles Room seats 40 for receptions, while the West Room accommodates 30 in a banquet setting. The open-air Johnson Pavilion allows 50 guests to attend a wedding event. Viles Arboretum does not offer catering. All three rooms are available to rent for the whole day or a half-day.
  
  

Maple Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast Inn

• Maple Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast Inn (maplebb.com) is a 15-minute drive northwest of Gardiner. This bed and breakfast features several options for wedding halls, including the Gathering Place -- Maple Hill's largest venue. Gathering Place seats 128 in a banquet setting; the Farm sets up an adjacent tent for additional seating upon request. Smaller parties have access to the Gallery, which seats 28 guests. Maple Hill provides sit-down and buffet-style catering.
  
  

Le Club Calumet

• Le Club Calumet (calumetclub.com) is in North Augusta, a five-minute drive from the University of Maine at Augusta; the Club is a 15-minute drive from Gardiner. This banquet hall features a stage, which can be used as an altar for wedding ceremonies. For receptions, Calumet seats up to 352 guests; wedding receptions with round tables accommodate up to 256. The Club provides buffet-style catering. Le Club Calumet's wine list has red, white and blush selections.
  
  

Senator Inn & Spa

• Situated in western Augusta, Senator Inn & Spa (senatorinn.com) is a 15-minute drive from Gardiner via the Maine Turnpike. This elegant hotel requires wedding parties to have at least 75 guests for ceremonies and/or receptions; guests with less than that number must pay an extra banquet labor fee. The State and Embassy Rooms feature elegant décor and can be combined to accommodate up to 250 guests for wedding events. The hotel's restaurant, Cloud Nine, offers catering.
  
  

Five Seasons Family Resort

• Gardiner is a 30-minute drive from the Five Seasons Family Resort (5seasonsfamilyresort.com) in Mt. Vernon, Maine. This resort's Great Room -- a room used as a living room and dining area -- transforms into a banquet hall with a seating capacity of 50 to 60. Each of the resort's round tables seats eight guests. Five Season's Great Room offers a full-service bar. This resort also accommodates outdoor ceremonies overlooking the Five Season's private lake.
