How to Deal With A Picky Eater, Difficult Kids, Smart Parents

48
Some kids, not matter what their age, are notoriously known as picky eaters.
This presents a challenge because without a proper diet kids do not get the nutrients and vitamins that they need to grow.
Most parents worry about this constantly and rightly so.
There are a few things that parents can do to encourage better eating.
However, one of the worst things parents can do is make the child eat whatever is on their plate.
Think of it this way, as an adult would you like it if someone told you that you had to eat everything on your plate? No, exactly.
And this could lead to potential problems, such as obesity at a later age, or a complete meltdown now.
A few ways to encourage kids to eat healthy snacks is disguise them.
Putting something they love on something they hate is usually a clever way to get them to eat it.
For example, putting peanut butter on celery sticks is a great way for kids to eat celery.
If the kids favorite food is macaroni and cheese, when fixing it use whole grain macaroni and then add peas into the mixture.
Most kids will eat it up, despite having the peas in the food.
Also, look for foods that have added nutrients.
For example, Chef Boyardee, which is always a child favorite, is now adding a serving of vegetables to its pasta.
This is a great way for kids to get some of the recommended daily intake of vegetables.
If disguising food doesn't seem to work with your child, then there are other options.
A daily vitamin is a great way to make sure that your child is getting all the nutrients they need.
Many of these vitamins come in the form of gummies, bubble gum, or even chocolate.
Make it a daily special treat for the child, they will feel special and the parents will feel better knowing that they are getting some nutrients into their bodies.
There are also numerous shakes and drinks available that contain the daily amount of vitamin and nutrients that a child needs.
These come in delicious flavors that almost every child will love.
Before a parent begins any sort of vitamin or shake it is important to ask the child's doctor if that is a good option.
Most will probably agree, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Always remember to never give up trying to force those healthy foods on kids.
Usually the older children get the more likely they are to try something new.
But until then there are alternatives.
