Frontier Airlines Animal Policy
- Frontier Airlines charges a one-way fee of $75 for an animal traveling with you. Domestic pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and small birds may travel on domestic flights; only dogs and cats are allowed on international flights. Other types of small household pets can be carried on on a case-by-case basis. If you carry on a pet, you may not carry on luggage. Only one animal is allowed per kennel. Maximum kennel size varies by plane type.
- There is a $150 one-way fee for each checked kennel. Frontier Airlines does not accept reptiles, amphibians, insects or spiders as checked baggage. Temperature restrictions apply. For example, all pets must have veterinarian approval if the forecasted temperature in any city on the itinerary is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit (including wind chill) or above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Frontier Airlines also ships unaccompanied animals as cargo. To transport small animals, such as hamsters, rabbits and birds, Frontier Airlines charges a per pound price of $1.25, with a minimum of $150 plus 6.25 percent tax and fuel and security surcharges. For larger animals, such as dogs and cats, Frontier Airlines has a chart detailing cost of shipping based on kennel size and weight, with base fees ranging from $240 to $765.
