This is especially true for people who are working on the Internet.
You see people waste a lot of time every day in front of their computer.
This is not productive time because they are doing nonproductive things such as surfing around, making changes to their website, and so on.
If you run your business on a part-time basis you really need to be productive in the limited amount of time you have to get your work done.
If you are not productive you cannot expect your business to become successful.

Whether it's a website or a blog you need traffic coming on a consistent basis.
Most home businesses fail today because they do not get enough meaningful traffic.
Actually most Internet business owners do not really understand how to get traffic to their site.
Many are operating on a very limited advertising budget so they need to use as many free marketing methods as possible.
These methods certainly can work, but you must get a lot of backlinks on the Internet where the search engines and your potential customers can find you.
This takes a lot of work and many people are just not willing to put in that kind of effort to get the rewards that can come from it.

No email marketing list.
If you expect to succeed on a long-term basis you need an email list of subscribers to contact.
Actually you may have several lists going.
One might be for prospective customers that you can continue to follow up with regularly.
Another list might be of actual customers or members of your home business that you are communicating with.
Email marketing is a big part of having a successful online business.
There certainly are a lot of problems that every home based business owner will face.
This is not unlike any off-line business.
