In the Home Church Each One Has a Function Perform
Paul encourages us in 1 Corinthians 14:26 to come prepared.
Paul reminds the Corinthians church that when they come together each one has something to do for all.
The home church easily can come prepared with something that is useful for all.
Usefulness during the time we meet for each other is the goal.
Let us look at each one carefully.
1.
Sing a hymn A hymn is a song.
Songs are a part of the worship of God from the very beginning.
God created music and in every one of us there is that ability to enjoy, compose and perform music.
Learning an instrument to play is a good thing.
Let some members of the family bring some music through songs, hymns and choruses.
2.
Teach a lesson Teaching is a part of the learning process for growing in God.
Teach from the word.
Take a passage and bring forth the meaning and value of that passage in its context.
Teach people how to put that into practice.
Obedience only comes from knowing what to do.
Teaching tells us what to do.
3.
Tell a story Stories are a good way to illustrate truths.
They are also a great source of personal testimony to God's goodness and grace.
You can tell your own personal story of what happened in any day.
Testimonies bring glory to God and encourage others in their walk of faith.
4.
Lead a prayer Prayer is an essential part of worship.
You can pray for the needs of each one.
You can life up and glorify God in the assembly of saints.
Prayer brings people closer to God and reinforces our dependency of God in this world.
Prayer comforts, sooths and boosts our spirits.
5.
Provide an insight Insight is a form of teaching.
IT is a little different from teaching.
A revelation is something God wants to show you as a body or for each individual.
It is a mixture between word of knowledge, prophecy and word of wisdom.
It can be practiced in home church very effectively.
6.
Use of Tongues This type of small gathering allow for tongues to be used.
It has to be limited to two or three only.
Paul suggests that if you speak in tongues it should be for the edification of the whole assembly and should be interpreted.
7.
Brings harmony and not confusion All these are done for harmony.
God is origin and source of peace and harmony, not confusion.
There is a good chance that if all begin to speak or do things at the same time you are inviting trouble.
So we are to meet and be harmonious and beautiful time as group.
